This dance class is a combination of the traditional and technical style of Jazz and the modern adaptation of Funk, both drawing on the origins of African American dance.

Catering to all levels of fitness and experience. For Example, classes are designed to cater for the beginner aiming to improve fitness and learn the basis of movement to music. As well as the experienced dancer looking for a challenge or expression beyond syllabus work, or to up their level to a professional standard.

Instruction incorporating Safe Dance Training, certified in all levels of teaching in the ‘Modern Dance Educational Syllabus (Jazz)’,
and the Classical Ballet Methods, ‘Chechetti’ and ‘RAD’.

Commencing her training at the early age of 5 years, teaching at 13 and performing her own choreographies for over 25 years, Julie is an accomplished teacher, performer and choreographer bringing to her classes a creative and intense experience for all to enjoy.

This Art Form encompasses a range of areas of skill with NM offering classes in Dance, Palmas (clapping as an accompanying instrument) with correct technique and rhythm structures, as well as musical accompaniment such as guitar and ‘cahon’ (box percussion).

Classes and workshops with live musical accompaniment, typical of this complicated and beautiful art form, are also offered.

Julie has performed in Sydney’s best Flamenco venues with training and experience both Nationally and in Spain. Currently performing, Julie is familiar and up-to-date with the latest trends.
